Benefits of Obtaining a Turkish Passport

Turkey's Citizenship by Property Ownership: A Path to a New Life

There's been a lot of buzz about Turkey's Citizenship through property ownership scheme in recent years. Buyers who purchase property in Turkey worth at least $400,000 USD can embark on the path to Turkish citizenship. Owners are required to hold the property for three years, and their spouse and children under the age of 18 will also be granted Turkish passports.

According to the Henley Passport Index, Turkish citizens have visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 110 countries and territories, ranking 57th worldwide in terms of travel freedom. Turkish passport holders enjoy visa-free access to 72 countries. Turkey is also a candidate for European Union accession, which could further enhance the passport's ranking.

Passports are issued by the General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs. The passport is valid for ten years and currently costs 1265.40 TL, including the compulsory booklet fee. Beyond global mobility, some benefits of obtaining a Turkish passport include full access to all government programs, permission to work, retirement programs, and the ability to buy property without waiting for a military check.

While the Citizenship by Investment program does not require you to reside in your Turkish properties, with its hospitable culture and high-quality lifestyle, living in Turkey is a delightful option.
